    Original situation

On the Scheendijk in Breukelen, Kubik has realized two holiday homes with a thatched roof. Our goal in this design was to find a well balanced combination in which boat shed and boathouse would form a whole with the house. Thus avoiding a fragmentation of different functions on the premisses. The ground floor houses the kitchen and the bedrooms. When the terrace doors are open, indoor and outdoor combines into a large patio. The upper floor houses the sitting room and a two terraces overlooking the area. The large terrace above the boat shed and the boat house, can be accessed by an outside staircase.
